NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The fourth-seeded St. Olaf women's tennis team defeated the five seed, Bethel University, 5-4 in the first round of the MIAC Women's Tennis Playoffs on Tuesday at the Carlson Courts.
The Oles will play at the No. 1 seed, Carleton College, on Thursday afternoon in the semifinal round.
St. Olaf won two of the three doubles flights and the second, third and fourth singles matches to advance.
Alisa Hall and
Margaret Zimmerman held on to win the first doubles flight, 8-6. It was the duo's fifth straight win as they improved to 12-2 on the year.
Zimmerman won her No. 2 singles match, as did
Maya MacGibbon at the third spot and
Erin McDonald at No. 4.Â
St. Olaf (10-4) has won three of its last four.
