NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Bethel University defeated St. Olaf 44-7 in a MIAC football game on Saturday afternoon at Manitou Field.
Bridgeport Tusler rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns while Brady Bomsta rushed for 122 yards and Josh Werness two scores for Bethel (1-3, 1-1 MIAC). The Royals scored touchdowns on their first two drives and four of their first six. The two St. Olaf stops came on interceptions by
Jacob Ossell and
Tommy Fleetham.
The Oles'
Ricardo Johnson III threw for 178 yards on 15-of-26 passing and
Bryan Aviles scored a fourth quarter touchdown for St. Olaf (1-3, 0-2 MIAC).
BU had 379 of its 531 yards on the ground. St. Olaf was limited to minus-four yards rushing, as Bethel collected six sacks accounting for 41 yards. The Oles had 204 yards passing.
St. Olaf is off next week before traveling to Hamline for 7 p.m. game on Oct. 8.
