NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Drue Engelman scored twice, including the game-winner at the 2:47 mark of the third period as St. Olaf overcame a 3-0 deficit to defeat St. Catherine University 4-3 in a MIAC women's hockey game on Friday night at Northfield Ice Arena.
Engleman's score was the Oles' second power-play goal of the night.
Kiki Platek and
Maddy Johnson assisted on the game-winner. Johnson had a goal while she and
Johanna Glaaser had two assists each in the win.
St. Olaf (5-12-0, 4-7-0 MIAC) used a flurry at the end of the second period to tie the game. Johnson scored at 17:12 on the power play before Engleman's first score at 19:08. Just eight seconds later,
Hannah Forliti tied the game on an assist from
Riley Anderson.
Cassie Alexander made 22 saves to get the victory in net for St. Olaf.
The Oles and Wildcats meet in the series finale tomorrow in St. Paul.
