NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's basketball team was defeated by Macalester 82-78 on Saturday afternoon at Skoglund Athletic Center.
Makenna Ash had 16 points to lead the Oles, while
Betsey Daly had the lone double-double of the game finishing with 14 points and ten rebounds.
First year
Michelle Lother also added 14 points for the Oles, including a three-pointer to bring St. Olaf (5-8, 1-5 MIAC) within two of the Scots with three seconds to go in the game.
Margaret Andersen and
Ella Skrien also scored in double figures putting in 11 apiece.
Macalester (8-5, 2-4 MIAC) had three players score at least 18 points and shot 27-for-62 from the floor. Lauren Clamage led all scorers with 23 points.
The Oles were plagued with missed free throws, only making 14-of-26, while the Scots made 15-of-21 for 71.4 percent.
St. Olaf will host the University of St. Thomas next on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
