NORTHFIELD, Minn. -
Emily Lecy scored two goals as St. Olaf (8-5-1, 6-1-1 MIAC) defeated Concordia College (4-8-1, 2-6-0 MIAC) 3-0 in a conference match on Saturday at Rolf Mellby Field.
Lecy scored her first goal with six minutes remaining in the first period. Her second goal was a chip shot over the head of Cobber goalkeeper Maddy Reed that found its way into the upper right corner. Lecy's goals were her first two of the season, both of which were unassisted.
Abby Stets contributed to the win with a goal of her own, assisted by
Mackenzie Schoustra. The goal was Stets' team leading sixth of the season.
The Oles were in control for most of the match, with 25 total shots in comparison to the Cobber's one. At the end of the match St. Olaf was the only team with any shots on goal, finishing with nine.
The win was the sixth conference win of the season for the Ole women. With the win they have now recorded the most conference match wins in a season since 2013, when they finished the season with a conference record of 7-3-1. The Oles still have three MIAC matches remaining this season, giving them three more opportunities to match or exceed the mark of that 2013 season.
Next up for the Oles is a nonconference match at the University of Wisconsin River Falls on Wednesday.
