ST. JOESPH, Minn. - Saint Benedict held off St. Olaf for a 26-24 victory in the decisive fifth set, as the Blazers claimed a 25-15, 30-32, 17-25, 25-22 and 26-24 MIAC volleyball win over St. Olaf on Friday night.
Summer Reid and
Lauren Rewers had 22 kills each, and
Megan Grimes 18 kills for the Oles. Reid added 23 digs while
Lexi Wall had 67 set assists in the loss for St. Olaf (19-9, 5-3 MIAC).Â
The Oles had three match point opportunities in the final set, but CSB survived each and scored the last three points after trailing 24-23.Â
The Blazers (14-8, 6-2 MIAC) were paced by Hunter Weiss' 24 kills.Â
The Oles had 79 kills to the Blazers' 68, but CSB had 9.0 blocks to the Oles' 3.0.
St. Olaf finishes its two-game MIACÂ road trip with a match at Concordia-Moorhead tomorrow afternoon. The Cobbers defeated 11th-ranked Gustavus in three sets on Friday.Â
