MOORHEAD, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's hockey team (2-5-2, 1-3-1 MIAC) lost a conference game to Concordia College (4-3-1, 3-1-1 MIAC) by a final score of 5-3 on Friday at the Moorhead Sports Center.
The Cobbers' Abbie Canton opened the scoring with a goal in the first period to give Concordia the first lead of the night. The Oles answered by scoring twice before the end of the period, with
Jane Vezina scoring her team leading fifth goal of the season and
Riley Anderson keeping pace with her fourth.
The 2-1 Ole lead did not last. After that first frame, Concordia scored four straight to propel themselves to a 5-2 lead. St. Olaf answered with a
Kalli McCullen goal midway through the third, but it was too little too late as the Oles dropped their third conference game this year.
Next up for the Ole women is a second game at Concordia on Saturday.
