NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Bethel University scored a 5-3 MIAC men's hockey win over St. Olaf on Friday night at Northfield Ice Arena.

JT Paine had a two-goal night for St. Olaf in the loss, netting each score on the power play. His second goal came 35 seconds into the third period on assists from Steven Sherman and Tobias Gabrielsen. Paine tied the game in the first period as well, on assists from Sherman and Drew Otto. Otto had the Oles' other score, an even-strength goal at 14:54 of the first on an assist from Paine.

Peter Barral had two goals while Justin Boananno and Crosby Steen had two assists each for BU. The Royals broke a 3-3 third period tie with a shorthanded goal by George Splichal and later added an empty-net score by Barral to secure the victory.

The teams will play tomorrow night in Blaine, Minn.
