WINONA, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's basketball team defeated Saint Mary's University (Minn.) 60-57 on Saturday afternoon at Saint Mary's Gym.
Betsey Daly led the Oles (3-11 MIAC, 7-14) with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Ella Skrien contributed 18 points and two steals in the win, shooting 7-for-11 from the floor and 3-for-4 from the three-point line. Both Daly and Skrien had 13 points in the second half to combat Saint Mary's fourth quarter surge.
Makenna Ash had 14 points and 13 rebounds, five being offensive. Ash was 7-for-11 from the floor.
St. Olaf had 15 points off turnovers and 16 second chance points. Brandi Blattner of Saint Mary's (7-7 MIAC, 13-8) led all scorers with 28 points, 16 coming in the second half of the game.
The Oles will host Gustavus next on Wednesday Feb. 8 at 7 p.m.
