NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Concordia College-Moorhead swept an MIAC baseball doubleheader from St. Olaf, 11-6 and 8-4, on Tuesday afternoon at Mark Almli Field.
Game One: Concordia 11, St. Olaf 6
The Cobbers struck for four-run rallies in the second and fifth innings on the way to the 11-6 game one victory. Grant Toivonen, Turner Storm and Nate Leintz had three hits each for Concordia, which had 17 hits in the seven-inning victory.
St. Olaf put together a three-run rally in the sixth inning, sparked by a
Travis McDonald double to open the frame. McDonald was 3-for-5 with a run and
Joe Keiski 2-for-3 with a run and RBI for the Oles.
Game Two: Concordia 8, St. Olaf 4
The Oles'
Jake Ossell homered as a part of a 2-for-5 game while
Dylan Blake was 3-for-4, but Concordia scored four times in the first inning and held off a St. Olaf comeback to get the sweep.
The Oles (9-12, 2-4 MIAC) got within a run, at 5-4 in the sixth, before the Cobbers added two in the seventh and another in the ninth. Concordia (13-11, 4-4
Leintz was 2-for-5 with two RBIs as one of three Cobbers with multi-hit games. Concordia took advantage of eight walks by Ole pitchers.
