WINONA, Minn. - Saint Mary's answered St. Olaf's 3-run ninth with a four-run rally to win game one 7-6 in 10 innings before beating the visiting Oles 9-6 in game two for an MIAC baseball sweep on Monday afternoon at Max Molock Field.
Game One: SMU 7, St. Olaf 6
The Oles rallied for two runs in the sixth inning to tie the game and broke a 3-3 tie with a three-run top of the 10th, but the Cardinals prevailed with a four-run bottom.
Dylan Blake went 4-for-6 to lead four Oles with multi-hit games.
Luke Dahl and
Ben Arndt were each 2-for-3 with a run and RBI.
Zach Slowiak was 3-for-4 and Justin Weinberg 3-for-5 for SMU, which had a two-run, game-tying homer from Bob Kinne in the bottom of the 10th.
Game Two: SMU 9, St. Olaf 6
Jake Mathison and
Ryan Iverson homered, but SMU scored five times in the first and twice in the second and never looked back. Blake was 2-for-4 to finish the day 6-for-10.
Kinne was 2-for-3 with four RBI to lead SMU.
