NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf softball team traded one-run games with Carleton on Saturday, dropping the opener 3-2 before a 1-0 victory in game two.
Game One: Carleton 3, St. Olaf 2
Carleton scored three unearned runs in the fifth inning, to overcome a 2-0 deficit, to defeat the Oles 3-2 in the opener.Â
The Oles raced to a 2-0 lead on two
Maggie Casper runs. Casper walked and scored in the first and singled and scored in the third on a
Julie Graf RBI. Graf tossed five scoreless innings, the first three and final two.
Jessica Bentley tossed a scoreless fourth before giving up three unearned with two outs in the fifth, before Graf finished the game.Â
Bentley hit a two-out double in the seventh but was stranded to end the game.Â
Game Two: St. Olaf 1, Carleton 0
Graf tossed a four-hit shutout as the Oles captured a split with a 1-0 victory in game two.Â
Kristina Lodahl tripled to lead off the first inning and later scored on a wild pitch for the game's only run. Lodahl was 3-for-3.Â
Graf finished the day with a combined 12 scoreless innings with 16 strikeouts and no walks.Â
