NORTHFIELD, Minn. -
Julie Graf tossed 14 shutout innings, allowing just three hits, as St. Olaf swept Gustavus 2-0 and 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Mabel Shirley Field.
Graf struck out a combined 28 while walking only four as the Oles moved to 23-11 and 12-6 in MIAC play.Â
Game One: St. Olaf 2, Gustavus 0
Graf went 3-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and a run to go with her 16-strikeout, two-hit, three-walk performance on the rubber as the Oles took the opener 2-0. St. Olaf had six hits, including an RBI single from
Kate Arneson to drive in Graf in the two-run first inning.Â
Aly Freeman had the Gusties' two hits, including a double.
Game Two: St. Olaf 1, Gustavus 0
Maggie Casper was 2-for-3 with the game's only run as Graf completed the 14-inning series shutout with a 12-strikeout game two. She walked only one and her counterpart, Gustie pitcher Jena Willis, picked up the only hit as the Oles won for the fifth time in the last six and for the ninth time over their last 11.Â
In the six games this week, five were decided by a run and the other was the game one, 2-0 win over Gustavus.
Graf has blown past the school record for single-season strikeouts (232) and is two away from the single-season wins high mark (21) with 19.Â
