ST. PAUL, Minn. -
Jake Mathison tossed a seven-inning complete game shutout in game one, striking out 11, as St. Olaf won the first game 1-0 in a MIAC doubleheader with Macalester on Saturday afternoon. The host Scots won game two 4-0.
Game One: St. Olaf 1, Macalester 0
Mathison drove in the game-winning run with an RBI single in the fourth inning. He also had a sacrifice bunt at the plate and held Macalester to five hits in his complete game victory.
Collin Brantner had two hits for Macalester.
Game Two: Macalester 4, St. Olaf 0
Matthew Plisko tossed a four-hit, nine-inning shutout to help Macalester get a series split with a 4-0 win.
Quentin Stuart hit a home run in the fourth and the Scots strung together five hits in a three-run fifth inning. Stuart was 2-for-3 and Graham Low 2-for-4.
The Oles were led by
Dylan Blake, who was 2-for-4.
Max Marshall came out of the St. Olaf bullpen to toss three scoreless innings, striking out four with one walk.
