NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf baseball team overcame an early 3-0 deficit to defeat the University of Northwestern (Minn.) 4-3 on Thursday afternoon at Carlander Stadium.
Ryan Iverson's RBI double in the seventh inning gave the Oles (7-10) their first lead. Iverson,
Dylan Blake and
Thomas Peterson had two hits apiece for St. Olaf in the win.
Jesse Retzlaff allowed three runs in the opening two innings, but settled in with five straight scoreless frames on the way to the victory. He allowed five hits while striking out six, walking two and hitting three.
Cameron Gray picked up a two-inning save with his two scoreless innings.
Brett Reinhart was 2-for-4 for the Eagles (9-13).
St. Olaf returns to MIAC play on Saturday with a home doubleheader against Bethel University.
