ST. PAUL, Minn. -
Megan Grimes had 14 kills as St. Olaf swept Hamline University 25-22, 25-21 and 25-21 in an MIAC volleyball match on Wednesday night at Hutton Arena.
Grimes hit .407 going 14-for-27 with only three errors.
Lauren Rewers added 13 kills, Haley Langeslay 14 digs and
Lexi Wall 40 set assists as the Oles moved to 2-0 in MIACÂ play for the first time since 2012.
Jaelin Jones had 12 kills and Cass Bittle 10 for the Pipers (3-12, 0-2 MIAC).Â
The Oles (10-5) trailed briefly in the first set, at 18-17, before rallying for six of the final nine points for the victory. The Pipers led 17-16 in the second set before six straight Ole points. HU then led 16-12 in the third set, but St. Olaf responded with an 11-4 run to take a 23-20 lead.Â
St. Olaf plays at Macalester on saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. The Oles play at Martin Luther next Monday before returning home for a Sept. 27 home MIAC match against the University of St. Thomas.
