Fourth place finish for Ole men at home quad meet

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The men's track and field team finished fourth in a home quadrangular meet in Tostrud Center on Friday night.

Joe Pugh cracked a career best in the indoor 400, running 51.01 to finish fourth in the event.  Pugh doubled back in the 4x400 meter relay running the leadoff leg on a team that included Adam Kaiser, Chris Frick, and Eli Knutson.  The relay finished fourth in 3:31.03.

Keith Ketoa and Liban Jama paced the Oles in the mile.  Ketola ran a season best of 4:21.41 despite being passed in the final stretch.  Jama's time of 4:24.81 puts him and Ketola as the top two performances in the MIAC for the 2018 season.

Matt Pahl and Zach Herman were third and fourth in the 600 meter run with times of 1:27.04 and 1:27.60.  In the 1000 meter run, Sam Primozich ran 2:38.24 to place third.

In the long jump, Eli Knutson and Noah Han jumped 5.55 meters and 4.73 meters, placing sixth and tenth respectively.  Knutson also cleared 4.13 meters in the pole vault to finish third.  Frick vaulted 3.23 meters in sixth.

The Oles tallied 91 team points to place fourth.  St. Thomas won the meet with 163.

The next meet for St. Olaf will come next Saturday at the Carleton Meet of Hearts.
