NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf men's basketball team (8-4, 4-3 MIAC) lost 82-66 to Augsburg (10-2, 5-2 MIAC) in a conference game on Saturday at Skoglund Center.
The Auggies were led by Collin Olmscheid with 29 points on 12-of-19 shooting. Harry Sonie finished with 15 points, leading the team with four steals. Booker Coplin added 13 points of his own, going 3-for-4 from three-point range.
Dominic Bledsoe led St. Olaf with 18 points, shooting 5-of-8 from the field and 4-of-6 from three point range.
Troy Diggins Jr. shot 4-for-6 from three point range and finished the game with 16 points.
Robert Tobroxen added 11 points to go along with seven rebounds.
Augsburg shot 60.0 percent from the field and 57.1 percent from beyond the arc, while St. Olaf finished the game 43.1 percent and 39.3 percent, respectively.Â
After the Oles tied the game at 14, the Auggies went on an 11-0 run. Down 25-14, the Oles fought back to get within one on a Bledsoe three-pointer to bring the score to 27-26. Augsburg proceeded to go on a 20-7 run to finish the half up 14 over St. Olaf.
In the second half, the Oles cut the Auggies' lead to 10 on another Bledsoe thee-pointer with 15:51 remaining. Augsburg answered with a three-pointer of their own by Olmscheid, and maintained the lead for the remainder of the game.
Next up for the Oles is a home conference game against Macalester on Wednesday.Â
