NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Carleton College held off a second half St. Olaf rally to claim a 69-58 MIAC men's basketball victory over the visiting Oles on Wednesday night at West Gym.
Nate Albers had a game-high 24 points to lead St. Olaf (18-6, 14-5 MIAC), which snapped a nine-game winning streak with the loss. The Oles shot a mere 34.0 percent from the field and 22.2 percent from three-point range, each season lows.
Robert Tobroxen added 14 points for the Oles, all in the second half.
Carleton was paced by Ryan Casperson's career-best 21 points. Kent Hanson added 18 points and eight rebounds and Kevin Grow 17 points as the Knights (14-10, 12-7 MIAC) kept possession of the Goat Trophy with the victory.
St. Olaf trailed by as many as 16 in the second half before staging a comeback. The Oles cut the lead to seven three times in the final four minutes, before missing five of their last six attempts from the floor.
