Baseball: Oles fall to Luther, defeat Northland

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa - The St. Olaf baseball team (3-2) lost 8-3 to Luther College (7-1) before defeating Northland College (0-4) 10-1 on Saturday.

Game One: Luther 8, St. Olaf 3
Jake Mathison allowed one unearned run through seven innings pitched for the Oles. Mathison added two hits at the plate.

Trent Athman led Luther with three RBI, going 2-for-5 and scoring twice.

The Oles held a 3-1 lead entering the eighth inning. Luther proceeded to score seven runs on six hits in the inning to take a lead they would not give up. 

Game Two: St. Olaf 10, Northland 1
TJ Rogers led the Oles with three hits, driving in one and scoring twice. Dylan Blake, Sam Stuckmayer, and Satchel Daleo each drove in two runs in the win.

Northland's only run of the game was unearned, when Jakob Freele scored on a Anthony Corrado ground out to short.

Next up for the Oles is another set of games against Northland and Luther on Sunday.
