Baseball: Oles get a pair of 4-1 victories over Mules in doubleheader

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The St. Olaf baseball team (9-6) defeated Colby College (2-5) twice on Tuesday with a pair of 4-1 victories.

St. Olaf 4, Colby 1
In the opener, a three-run third inning propelled the Oles to the 4-1 win.

TJ Rogers led the Oles with two hits and two RBI. Jake Mathison and Matthew Muller each drove in a run during the three-run third.

Max Marshall (3-1) started for St. Olaf, earning the win while allowing an unearned run on five hits and a walk through four innings pitched, striking out two.

Luke Feigal earned his second save of the season. Feigal pitched the final three innings without giving up a hit, allowing a walk while striking out three.

George Schmi scored the lone run for the Mules on an error in the bottom of the third inning.

St. Olaf 4, Colby 1
The Oles won the second game of the day with an identical 4-1 score to the prior game.

Hunter Barber (2-1) got the win, pitching all seven inning. Barber allowed one run on four hits and a walk with a strikeout.

With the bases loaded and one out in the first inning, Ryan Torbenson hit a sacrifice fly to right that allowed Rogers to score. Dylan Blake followed with an RBI single that scored Muller from second.

In the fourth, with runners on second and third, Blake drove in two more with a single. Blake ended the game 2-for-2 with three RBI.

Jackson Ward put the Mules on the board with an RBI double in the top of the second, scoring Keenan Lulia from first base.

Next up for the Oles is a game against Thomas College on Wednesday.
