Partial squad opens outdoor season at Hamline

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Ten athletes from the St. Olaf women's track and field team competed in the Hamline Twilight meet on Wednesday afternoon.

The performances were highlighted by Jordan Lutz winning the 1500 meter race in  4:41.30 and Lisa Fisher coming in 10th with a 5:01.01.

The 400 meter field was deep for the Oles as Abby Stets led the way with a 5th place (58.84) finish.  Johanna Glaser (8th - 59.84), Katie Elstad (9th - 1:00.26), and Lillie Meakim (16th - 1:07.22) also made their debuts.

Jena Hauch beat her seed time in the 800 meter run, finishing fifth in 2:21.92.  Meg Anderson cleared a height of 1.48 meters in the high jump to place ninth in the season opener.

In the hurdle events, Mackenzie Schoustra and Lori Erlandson competed in both the 100 and 400 meter hurdles.  Schoustra was fifth in both events (15.61 and 1:09.35), and Erlandson finished 21st (18.21) and 11th (1:15.36).

The remaider of the St. Olaf team will open the outdoor competition on Saturday afternoon at the Carleton relays.
