ST. PAUL, Minn. - The St. Olaf softball team won its seventh and eighth in a row with a 4-3 and 5-1 sweep of Macalester College on Sunday afternoon.
Game One: St. Olaf 4, Macalester 3
Emily Carr,
Kate Arneson and
Alison Curry had two hits each as the Oles came back from a 3-2 deficit.Â
Carr drove in a run in the third and
Hannah Matthies delivered a go-ahead RBI ground out in the fifth.Â
Julie Graf picked up the win, going 5 1/3 innings, allowing no runs while striking out seven and walking none.
Game Two: St. Olaf 5, Macalester 1
Curry was 3-for-4,
Jordan Melz and Carr 2-for-3 and
Abby Grismer 2-for-4 as the Oles raced to a 4-0 lead in the first two innings.Â
Grismer worked the majority of the game, throwing 4 1/3 innings, allowing just four hits and a run. Graf was perfect as she worked the first 2 2/3 innings, allowing no baserunners while striking out four.Â
