LA CROSSE, Wis. - The Phil Esten Challenge hosted the St. Olaf women's track and field team as it finished sixth at the second outdoor meet of the season on Saturday.
Jessica Bentley threw discus and the shot put, with throws of 40.55 meters (5th) and 11.45 meters (16th) in the two events respectively. Bentley also won the javelin with a distance of 37.54 meters.Â
Kelsey Weed threw 32.10 meters in the javelin for a fourth place finish.
Mackenzie Schoustra completed the hurdle double running 15.66 in the 100 hurdles and 1:06.81 in the 400 distance.
St. Olaf had a fleet of runners in the 5000, with
Mary Naas leading the charge in second (18:27.34).Â
Meredith Moore,
Holly Gordon, and
Rebecca Walton were fifth through seventh with times of 19:18.61, 19:28.75, and 19:36.63.Â
Daisy Richmond followed in a time of 20:20.52.
In the 400 meter dash,
Katie Elstad was the lone competitor for St. Olaf, placing fifth in a 59.78 split.
The Oles will host the Manitou Classic on Wednesday afternoon at Klein Field.
