NORTHFIELD, Minn. - St. Olaf swept Carleton College 4-1 and 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Mark Almli Field.
Game One: St. Olaf 4, Carleton 1
Jake Mathison tossed a complete game, allowing six hits and two walks while striking out five as St. Olaf won the opener.
Luke Dahl delivered a two-out, two-run double to give the Oles a 3-0 lead in the fourth. Dahl was one of three Oles with a 2-for-3 effort at the plate, joining
Dylan Blake and
Sam Pressman.
Zane Johnson was 2-for-3 for the Knights.
Game Two: St. Olaf 9, Carleton 0
Mathison cleared the bases with a three-run double as a part of a six-run second inning. He finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs and a run.
Matt Muller had two hits and
Ryan Torbenson homered for the Oles, who have won three of their last four.
Hanson Devine worked five innings to get the victory, while
Will Gustafson completed the shutout with two scoreless innings.
