ST. PAUL, Minn. - On Saturday afternoon the St. Olaf men's track team raced at the Meet of Saints hosted by St. Thomas University for the last chance to qualify for the MIAC Championships.
Only St. Thomas, St. Johns, and St. Olaf competed at the meet, with St. Thomas winning the meet with 154 total team points.
The 4x400 meter relay team of
Joe Pugh, Ben Scott, Sean Longergan and
Sam Primozich was second overall with a season best time of 3:23.87. Pugh also doubled as the runner-up in the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.52. Scott was second in the 400 meter hurdles, running 56.14. Oliver Wood was eighth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.29, and also competed in the 110 meter hurdles where he finished in 17.90.
Liban Jama,
Andrew Plumb, and
Nick Dea ground out a 5000 meter race in the heat. Jama was 16:10.13 and Plumb followed in 16:44.23. Â
Running the 800 meters,
Zach Herman led the way with a time of 1:59.38.Â
Nick Sokolowski ran a 2:01.19 as the runner-up in section two, followed closely by
Alec Getzloff (2:03.64) and
Jeremy Storvick (2:05.38).Â
Peter Aehl (2:06.37) and
Sam Bergman (2:07.24) closed to finish right behind Storvick.
