ST. PAUL, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's track team raced at the Meet of the Unsaintly under the team alias "Olaf" in the final weekend to qualify for the MIAC Championships.
Lindsey Kemp ran a 11:53.38 to win the 3000 meter steeplechase by over ten seconds.
Rebecca Walton (7th - 12:16.36) and
Daisy Richmond (9th - 12:50.85) were also in the top ten. In 13th was Rachael Hoober, running 13:51.05.
Jessica Bently won the javelin throw with a distance of 37.18 meters. This was just under 0.5 meters short of her personal best (37.54 meters), which is on the border of an NCAA qualifying throw.
Kelsey Weed threw a season best distance of 34.30 meters to place fourth and
Emily Bohlig threw 20.80 for 13th.
The St. Olaf 4x100 meter relay ran its fastest time of the season (49.66) to finish third. The squad consisted of
Lillie Meakim,
Abby Stets,
Katie Elstad and
Johanna Glaaser.
In the high jump, Meg Anderson cleared a height of 1.58 meters for sixth place at the meet, Bohlig jumped 1.43 meters for 13th overall.
In the distance events,
Carolyn Carpenter was ninth in the 1500 (5:10.77) with
Tayler Paulsen close behind (13th - 5:16.46).
Siri Block ran a season best of 5:21.75 to place 17th.
Jordan Lutz led the way in the 5000 meters as the runner-up in 18:12.11.
Holly Gordon rolled to a 20:12.36 to finish sixth.
St. Olaf will compete at the MIAC Championships on Friday and Saturday at Carleton College.
