Emily Jarnigan tallied the 1,000th dig of her career as the St. Olaf College volleyball swept Concordia-Moorhead by scores of 25-20, 26-24, 25-9 on Youth Night on Friday night at Skoglund Center.
Jarnigan entered the night 15 digs shy of the 1,000-dig milestone and reached the mark in the second set on the way to collecting 29 digs in the sweep for St. Olaf (20-3, 3-2 MIAC). The Oles limited Concordia (5-14, 2-3 MIAC) to a hitting percentage of just .074 while hitting .303 themselves in the three-set win.
Junior setter
Lexi Wall recorded 49 assists in the sweep to surpass the 1,000-assist mark for third-straight season. She also added 13 digs for her sixth double-double in the last seven matches.

Lauren Rewers tallied a match-high 15 kills for St. Olaf, which also got 10 kills from junior

Nicole Banitt each contributed nine kills, as the Oles hit over .300 for the fourth time this season.
After the Cobbers opened up an early 6-4 lead in the first set, the Oles won seven-straight points to take a lead they would hold for the rest of the set, with Lannom posting three kills during the run. St. Olaf led by at least three points for the remainder of the set and took it, 25-20, thanks to six kills from Rewers and 10 digs by Jarnigan.
The second set featured 11 ties and six lead chances as the Oles overcame a late 23-21 deficit to go ahead by two sets. Down 23-21, Rewers and Lannom registered consecutive kills to tie it up before an attack error by Concordia gave St. Olaf a set point. The Cobbers stayed alive with a kill by Bailey Gronner, but the Oles went on to win the set on a kill by Rewers followed by a block by Lannom and Wall.
Marxer had five of her 10 kills on the night in the final set, while Lannom and Banitt each had four, to help St. Olaf close out the sweep. The Oles surged out to a 12-3 lead early on behind three kills from Lannom in a 5-0 run. St. Olaf hit a match-high .455 in the third set and won 10 of the final 11 points in the match.
Casey Coste and Anna Brakke each tallied 10 digs for Concordia, while Gabby DeBoer had 12 on the evening. DeBoer's five kills led the Cobbers.
St. Olaf is right back at it on Saturday, Oct. when No. 5 Saint Benedict visits Skoglund Center for a 3 p.m. match. The Bennies saw their 14-match winning streak halted and suffered just their second loss of the season in a four-set setback at Saint Mary's (Minn.) on Friday evening.
