Hannah Matthies of the St. Olaf College softball team were named to the 2019 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Softball All-Tournament Team, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Graf was selected to the All-Tournament Team for the second-straight year and was joined on the 12-member team by Carr and Matthies. In addition to the St. Olaf trio, Hamline had a league-high five honorees, St. Thomas had three and St. Catherine had one. The All-Tournament Team was voted on by the four head coaches whose teams competed in the 2019 MIAC Softball Playoffs.
Carr batted .500 (5-for-10) with three doubles and one RBI while slugging at a .800 clip in St. Olaf's three games at the 2019 MIAC Softball Playoffs, while Matthies was 4-for-10 (.400) with one double and handled all seven of her chances at third base without an error.
Graf started all three games for the Oles, posting a 0.88 ERA with 23 strikeouts in 16.0 innings in the circle. The junior limited St. Catherine to one unearned run on four hits with one walk and 14 strikeouts in a complete game in St. Olaf's 4-1 win over the Wildcats on Saturday. She gave up just one earned run apiece in her other two appearances, including a six-inning complete game in a 1-0 loss to No. 4-ranked St. Thomas on Friday.
In her four-year career, Carr missed just three games, starting all 150 of the games she played in. She concludes her career as St. Olaf's all-time leader in batting average (.376), slugging percentage (.630), hits (176), doubles (59), RBI (105), total bases (295), while ranking tied for second in home runs (14) and third in on-base percentage (.441).
St. Olaf concluded the 2019 season with a 27-14 overall record and made its second-straight appearance in the MIAC Playoffs. The team's 27 victories and 16 MIAC wins were the highest totals for the program since 1997.
