Like the second set, Loras used a late run to win the second and go up two sets to none. Trailing 19-17, the Duhawks won six consecutive points to take a 23-19 lead and won eight of the final 10 points to grab a two-sets-to-one advantage.
St. Olaf hit .278 in the fourth set, the highest mark of the match for either team, and held Loras to a .031 clip to send the match to a deciding set. Reid had three kills during a 4-0 run that opened up a 15-10 lead for the Oles midway through the set. St. Olaf led by at least four and as many as nine late in the set.
Neither team led by more than a single point in the fifth until Loras won three points in a row shortly after the side switch to go up 11-9 and prompt a St. Olaf timeout. The Oles evened the set at 12-12 and 13-13 before a block gave the Duhawks a match point. After an attack error by Loras tied the score at 14-14, Lannom delivered back-to-back aces on either side of a timeout by the Duhawks to finish off the five-set victory.
Kayla Kinney led three Duhawks in double figures in kills with 16 to go with 11 digs. Kelly Boge and Abby Aligeyer each had 10 kills for Loras, while Jessalyn Roling had 46 assists.
