Box Score ST. PETER, Minn. – Four members of the St. Olaf College women's tennis team competed in last weekend's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional Championships, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College.

First year Allie Prokosch and juniors Emily Otteson, Sabrina Barboza and Greta Prokosch all competed in the singles and doubles main draws. Barboza and G. Prokosch each advanced to the round of 32 in singles, while Barboza and A. Prokosch won two matches in the doubles draw before falling in the round of 16.

Barboza and A. Prokosch opened the tournament with an 8-4 victory over Madalyn Bigelow/Bryce Bigelow of UW-Whitewater. They then booked their spot in the round of 16 by defeating Ingrid Goldstrand/Rylee Schurman of Bethel University by an 8-1 score. The pair then ran into the No. 2-seeded duo of Ginger Valentine/Simona Potockova of Gustavus, falling 8-3.

After dropping their opening match, Otteson and G. Prokosch won back-to-back matches in the consolation bracket by scores of 8-3.

In the singles draw, Barboza outlasted Rachel Lindrud of Gustavus in a 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (4) marathon in the round of 64 before falling to Bethel's Mackenzie Novak, 7-6 (3), 6-3. G. Prokosch eased past Wartburg's Hannah Fox, 6-2, 6-0, in the opening round before dropping a 6-4, 6-2 match to Carroll's Ashley LaBelle.

Also in the singles draw, A. Prokosch was edged by Paige McLeod of St. Thomas by a 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-3 score line in the round of 64 before bouncing back with consecutive wins in the consolation bracket to advance to the quarterfinals. Otteson dropped her first match to Luther's Shelby Cook, 7-6 (3), 6-3 before falling in the consolation bracket to Potockova.
