NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Senior
Tuukka Totro scored on his Senior Day for the St. Olaf College men's hockey team in a 4-1 loss to Concordia-Moorhead in the season finale the Oles on Saturday at St. Olaf Ice Arena.
Concordia (13-10-2, 10-5-1 MIAC) opened up a 3-0 lead early in the second period after scoring twice in the first five minutes of the period. Totro got St. Olaf (4-18-3, 2-11-3 MIAC) on the board off an assist from classmate
Andrew Willner three minutes after the Cobbers went up 3-0, but Concordia got the goal back seven minutes after Totro's tally.
Quinn Fuchs netted the only goal of the opening period at 17:09 to give the Cobbers a 1-0 lead after one. Goals from Joe Burgmeier and Eddie Eades less than three minutes apart early in the second extended the visitors' lead to 3-0.
Totro tallied his second goal of the season at 7:47 of the second, with Willner picking up his team-leading seventh assist of the season. Tyler Bossert got the goal back for Concordia at 14:46 of the second and neither team mustered a goal in the third.
St. Olaf celebrated its senior class on the ice prior to the group concluding its career on home ice. Senior
Noah Parker recorded his fifth game this season with at least 40 saves, finishing with 42 on the afternoon.
Jacob Stephan earned the win for the Cobbers with 18 saves, as Concordia finished the regular season one point behind regular-season champion Saint John's.
