AUSTIN, Texas – For the second consecutive year, recent St. Olaf college graduate
Tyler Radtke was selected as a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) First Team At-Large Academic All-America ® honoree, as announced on Wednesday.
A member of the St. Olaf men's Nordic skiing team and an economics major, Radtke is St. Olaf's first-ever two-time CoSIDA First Team Academic All-America ® selection and is the second Ole to be named to the Academic All-America ® teams twice, joining former women's track & field and cross country standout Megan Daymont.
Radtke was one of 45 student-athletes in the country to be named to the Academic All-America ® Division III At-Large men's teams and was one of 11 honorees on the men's teams to carry a 4.0 grade point average. He was also one of three men's student-athletes to repeat as CoSIDA First Team Academic All-America ® honorees.
In his career at St. Olaf, Radtke was a 14-time U.S. Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association (USCSA) All-American and won national titles in the 15k classic and classic sprint in 2018. He finished in the top eight individuals at the USCSA National Championships in each of his four seasons at St. Olaf, placing eighth as a first year, second as a sophomore, fifth as a junior, and fourth as a senior.
Radtke also earned First Team USCSA Scholar All-American honors at the USCSA National Championships in each of his final two years.
In order to be nominated for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore, maintain a minimum GPA of 3.30, and be a starter or key reserve on his or her team. The men's at-large category includes the sports of fencing, golf, hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.
