Box Score 2 ST. PETER, Minn. – Seniors
Ethan Bruha and
Tim Roback represented the St. Olaf College men's tennis team in this weekend's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional Championships, while five Oles competed in the Midwest Open.
Bruha and Roback both dropped their opening-round singles matches and were edged in a tiebreaker in the first round of the doubles draw. Bruha lost his first-round singles match to Erik Beckers of Bethel, 6-1, 6-3, while Roback had a tough draw, going out 6-0, 6-1 to No. 10 seed Cole Lindwall of UW-Whitewater.
In the doubles bracket, the duo went down in a tiebreaker by a 7-4 margin to Brendan Pietila and Payton Adkission of UW-Whitewater, who went on to defeat the No. 4-seeded pairing from Coe before losing in the quarterfinals.
Sophomores
Jerusalem Thao and
Jakub Belik both won their first-round singles matches in the Midwest Open before falling in round two. Thao posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Kipton Jenson of Concordia-Moorhead before bowing out in straight sets to UW-Eau Claire's Colin Chapman, while Belik rallied for a 4-6, 6-4, 10-7 opening-round win over Nicolas Greis of St. Scholastica before falling 6-3, 7-6 to Kaleb Stevens of Gustavus.
Sophomore

Anders Bergsten, and sophomore
Ben Anderson each lost their first-round singles matches.
In the Midwest Open doubles draw, Belik and Anderson won three matches to advance to the quarterfinals before dropping an 8-4 match to Will Fischer and Mason Meyer of Saint John's. The duo defeated pairings from Gustavus, Central, and Concordia Wisconsin to qualify for the quarterfinals.
Thao and Bergsten lost their first-round doubles match 8-3 to Aidan Hunter and Juan Pablo Rosaldo of Luther.
St. Olaf hosts its Alumni Match on Saturday, Oct. 9 at noon at Carlson Courts.
