ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict scored once in each half to defeat the St. Olaf College women's soccer team by a 2-0 margin on Saturday afternoon at College Avenue Field.
Sydney Burns scored in the 28th minute and Clair Lehmann added an insurance goal in the 76th minute for Saint Ben's (5-3-3, 3-1-2 MIAC), which extended its unbeaten run to six games (3-0-3) with the victory. St. Olaf (4-6-1, 2-4-0 MIAC) held slender advantages in shots (17-16) and shots on goal (10-9) in the game but was shut out for the third game in a row and fourth time in conference play this season.
Burns opened the scoring for the Bennies in the 28th minute when she collected a pass from Roxy Veldman and slid a shot around an on-rushing
Brynne Davis to give the hosts the lead. The goal stood as the lone goal of the game until Ellie Wohnoutka set up Lehmann's insurance goal inside the final 15 minutes.
St. Olaf had nine shots in the opening 45 minutes and eight more in the second half but was unable to find a way past CSB goalkeeper duo Annie Waters and Paige Kahlmeyer, who combined for 10 saves in the victory. Davis had seven saves for the Oles in the loss.

Tessa Anderson led St. Olaf offensively with six shots and four shots on goal.
Next up for the Oles is a trip to Saint Mary's University on Tuesday, Oct. 12 for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
