The score remained 1-1 until midway through the second period when Brendan Sheehan put Hamline back on top at the 10:23 mark. The Pipers took a 2-1 lead into the second intermission despite being outshot 20-7.
Fleming blasted home a slap shot from well outside the left circle on the power play at the 8:14 mark of the third period to tie the game at 2-2, but Collins cleaned up a rebound at the 17:37 mark to give Hamline the win.
