NORTHFIELD, Minn. –
Sabrina Barboza and
Allie Prokosch came from 5-0 down to win at No. 1 doubles, but the St. Olaf College women's tennis team fell, 7-2, to the University of St. Thomas on Thursday afternoon at Carlson Courts.
After falling behind 5-0, Barboza and Prokosch won the final eight games of their No. 1 doubles match against Nicole Snezhko and Jannah El Nmer for St. Olaf (2-4, 2-4 MIAC), which also got a win from
Greta Prokosch at No. 4 singles. St. Thomas (9-3, 7-0 MIAC) earned wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles and five straight-set singles victories to remain unbeaten in conference play.
Barboza and Prokosch's win evened their record at 3-3 in MIAC play this season, while
Greta Prokosch's 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles brought her record to 4-2. The 4-2 mark is tied for the best on the team this season with
Emily Otteson.
St. Olaf visits the College of Saint Benedict on Saturday, April 24 for a 1 p.m. match.
