Men's tennis finishes season with 9-0 win over Concordia

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory over short-handed Concordia-Moorhead in its season finale on Saturday afternoon at Carlson Courts.

St. Olaf (6-6, 3-6 MIAC) posted a pair of 8-2 doubles victories and lost just eight games in 10 sets in singles to finish its season on a winning note. Concordia (0-10, 0-8 MIAC) had two default the matches at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles due to a lack of players.

In doubles, Spencer Wick and Michael Yousef won their fifth-straight match and finished the season with a 6-1 mark as a tandem with an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles. Dez Young and Henry Smith added their second consecutive win at No. 2 doubles by the same scoreline.

Wick concluded his career with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 1 singles for his fourth singles win in a row, while Yousef, Smith, and Ethan Bruha did not drop a game in their victories at No. 2, No 3., and No. 4 singles.

Bruha's win was his third in a row and seventh of the season, as he finished with a team-best 7-5 mark in singles this spring. Wick and Yousef each logged 6-6 records, with Wick going a team-best 5-4 in conference play.

Like Wick, Young concluded his career with a win, claiming his match at No. 5 singles by a 6-4, 6-2 margin.

St. Olaf concluded its season 6-6 overall, which marked the most wins in a season for the program since the 2015-16 team finished 8-8.
