NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Visiting Augsburg University used a three-goal second period to blank the St. Olaf College women's hockey team, 4-0, in the teams' series finale on Saturday afternoon at St. Olaf Ice Arena.
St. Olaf (7-12-0, 1-11-0 MIAC) held Augsburg (10-6-1, 6-3-1 MIAC) scoreless in the first period before the Auggies broke through with three second-period goals. The Auggies tacked on a fourth goal in the third period and got goals from four different skaters in the win.
After a scoreless first period that included just nine combined shots on goal, Augsburg broke the deadlock at 1:49 of the second period on a goal by Hannah Gold to ignite the visitors' three-goal period. Jenna Gerold and Kensie Malone added goals less than three minutes apart later in the period to push the Auggies' lead to 3-0.
Katie Flynn tallied the lone goal of the final 20 minutes for Augsburg at the 8:13 mark. The Auggies held a 27-12 advantage in shots on goal in the win. St. Olaf killed off all four Augsburg power plays in the game, including an extended 5-on-3 early in the second period.

Grace Boswell-Healey had 23 saves in the loss for the Oles, while Abby Bolig recorded a 12-save shutout for the Auggies.
St. Olaf hosts Hamline on Friday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. in the series opener between the two programs.
