Lorenzo Cazzamali recorded a win at No. 2 doubles for the St. Olaf College men's tennis team in an 8-1 loss to UW-Eau Claire on Saturday at West Hills Tennis and Fitness Center.
Roback and Cazzamali won their match against Colin Chapman and Otto Schluter at No. 2 doubles by an 8-6 margin to provide the lone point of the match for St. Olaf (0-2). UW-Eau Claire (3-2) took a 2-1 lead after doubles and went on to win all six singles matches – two in super tiebreakers – to pick up its third win of the season.
The Blugolds got an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles and an 8-6 victory at No. 3 doubles prior to Roback and Cazzamali's victory to assure themselves of taking a lead into singles. UW-Eau Claire got to the five points necessary to seal the victory with straight-set wins at No. 1, No. 5, and No. 6 singles.

Henry Smith and senior
Tony Klagge both rallied from dropping the first sets of their matches at No. 2 and No. 4 singles to force a super tiebreaker before being edged by two points in lengthy super tiebreakers. Smith bounced back from a 6-0 first set before going down 6-0, 3-6, 12-10 at No. 2 singles, while Klagge won a tight second set in a 6-3, 5-7, 11-9 loss at No. 4 singles.
St. Olaf returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play on Saturday, March 5 at 4 p.m. against conference newcomer St. Scholastica in Duluth.
