NORTHFIELD, Minn. – In a matchup of regionally-ranked teams, the St. Olaf College women's tennis team saw its six-match winning streak come to an end with a 9-0 loss to Carleton College on Monday afternoon at Pat Lamb Tennis Courts.
St. Olaf (6-3, 4-2 MIAC) entered the match riding its longest winning streak since 2016, but Carleton (10-0, 6-0 MIAC) remained unbeaten this season by sweeping the doubles matches and winning all six singles matches in straight sets. The Knights were ranked No. 11 in the region this week by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, while the Oles checked in at No. 20.
Carleton won each of the doubles matches by at least five games, with the closest score line coming at the top spot where the regionally-ranked pair of Mary Frances Hose and Amelia Asfaw topped first year

The Knights dropped just 16 games in 12 sets in the six singles matches. First year
Fiona O'Flaherty forced the second set of her No. 4 singles match against Ingrid Smith to a tiebreaker before falling 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) to bring an end to her three-match winning streak. Zubarieva also saw her four-match winning streak halted by Hose – who is ranked No. 3 in the region – at the top singles spot.
St. Olaf heads to Baseline Tennis Center at the University of Minnesota to face St. Kate's in another matchup of regionally-ranked teams on Friday, April 15 at 7 p.m.
