MOORHEAD, Minn. – First year
Elliana Loesch won the decisive super-tiebreaker at No. 6 singles to give the St. Olaf College women's tennis team a 5-4 victory over Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday afternoon.
With the score locked at 4-4, Loesch completed a comeback victory at No. 6 singles by winning the super-tiebreaker by a 10-5 margin to secure the victory for St. Olaf (1-0, 1-0 MIAC). The Oles, who have two regulars from last season's lineup studying abroad this fall, have won the last 24 matches in the series with Concordia (0-2, 0-2 MIAC) dating back to 2003.

Anna Secor did not lose a game at No. 2 doubles to give St. Olaf its lone point heading into singles.
Junior
Olha Zubarieva and Berns raced through their matches at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, to propel the Oles into a 3-2 lead, posting identical 6-1, 6-1 scores in their victories. Junior
Jane Spading followed with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles to bring St. Olaf within a point of the five points needed to secure the win.
Concordia got straight-set wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles to pull even at 4-4 and put the focus on the No. 6 singles match between Loesch and Bell Hamre. After dropping the first set, Loesch rallied to win the second to force a super-tiebreaker, which she won by a 10-5 score to wrap up the victory for the Oles in her first collegiate dual match.
St. Olaf takes on Hamline University in another MIAC match on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 11:30 a.m. at Washington Tech Magnet School in St. Paul.
