NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College football team suffered a 49-10 loss to No. 19/21-ranked Saint John's University in its final home game of the season on Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at Klein Field at Manitou.
Saint John's (7-2, 6-1 MIAC) scored touchdowns on its first three possessions to get out to a 21-0 first-quarter lead and didn't look back on its way to 10th-straight win in the series with St. Olaf (4-5, 3-4 MIAC). The Johnnies outgained the Oles by a 532-253 margin and went 8-for-12 on third down in the win.
Aaron Syverson was 28-for-37 for 328 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions for Saint John's, throwing touchdowns to four different receivers on the afternoon. Devin Vouk ran for 81 yards and two touchdowns on just five rushes, as the Johnnies racked up 204 yards on the ground.
Fifth-year senior
Jordan Embry was held under 100 rushing yards for the first time this season but finished with 92 total yards (63 rushing, 29 receiving) and scored St. Olaf's lone touchdown of the game. Embry's one-yard run early in the third quarter got the Oles on the board after the Johnnies opened up the 21-0 lead.
After Embry's touchdown, Saint John's scored four-straight touchdowns to extend its lead to 49-7 early in the fourth quarter. Senior
Collin Swan closed out the scoring by hitting a 23-yard field goal with eight minutes remaining for the Oles.
Sophomore
Alijah Cruel had a team-high eight tackles in the game for St. Olaf, which got six tackles, including 1.5 for a loss, from sophomore

Luke Stanga and junior
Tate Sauerwein added sacks in the loss.
Before the game, the Oles honored their senior class and their families on the field in recognition of the seniors' dedication to the program over the course of their careers.
St. Olaf finishes off its season with a return trip to Hamline University during MIAC Championship Week on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. The Oles picked up a 49-25 victory at Klas Field on Sept. 30.
