WINONA, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's tennis team sailed to a 9-0 sweep of Saint Mary's University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play on Saturday at Winona Tennis Center.
After dropping its last two conference matches by close margins, St. Olaf (3-3, 3-2 MIAC) swept Saint Mary's (5-5, 0-3 MIAC) to move above .500 in MIAC matches this season. Sophomore

Fiona O'Flaherty were all victorious in both singles and doubles for the Oles.
In doubles, St. Olaf won all three matches by at least three games to get out to sizeable lead going into singles. Zubarieva and Prokosch remained undefeated in MIAC play this season at 5-0 with an 8-4 victory at No. 1 doubles, while the first-time tandems of Secor/Spading and O'Flaherty/sophomore
Gabby Trapero also picked up wins. Secor and Spading lost just two games at No. 2 doubles, while O'Flaherty and Trapero won 8-5 at No. 3 doubles.
Zubarieva – the reigning MIAC Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week – did not drop a game at No. 1 singles to move to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play this season, while O'Flaherty also did not yield a game in her 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. In the lone match to go the distance, Prokosch outlasted Zoie Becker by a 7-5, 5-7, 10-6 margin at No. 2 singles.
Spading conceded just one game in her team-best eighth victory of the season at No. 3 singles, while Secor picked up her first conference win of the season by posting a 6-0, 7-5 triumph at No. 5 singles. In her first collegiate singles match, first year
Emma Clift added St. Olaf's fifth straight-set win by a 6-4, 6-3 margin at No. 6 singles.
The Oles visit Sta-Fit in Sartell to face the College of Saint Benedict on Saturday, March 18 at 3 p.m.
