NORTHFIELD, Minn. – In the first-ever meeting between the two programs, the St. Olaf College men's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 sweep of visiting UW-Stevens Point on Saturday afternoon at Tostrud Center.

Karsten Johnson were all victorious in both singles and doubles for St. Olaf (3-5), which bounced back from back-to-back 5-4 losses with the victory. The win over first-year program UW-Stevens Point (6-9) was the Oles' first match at the newly-resurfaced Tostrud Center.
St. Olaf started the match by sweeping the three doubles matches, winning each flight by at least three games. Vizoli and Smith picked up their second win in three matches as a pair with an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles. In their first match together, Loesch and first year
Henry Kruse logged an 8-4 triumph at No. 2 doubles, while Johnson and junior
Ben Anderson earned their first win as a tandem by the same score at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, the Oles went on to claim five straight-set victories on their way to completing the sweep. First year
Bogdan Vizoli won the lone match to go the distance, claiming a 4-6, 6-1, 10-2 victory at No. 1 singles to extend his winning streak to four matches and improve to a team-best 5-4 in singles this season.
Smith, Johnson, junior
Jerusalem Thao, Azcona, and Loesch all were victorious in straight sets and did not drop more than three games in any set. Thao's 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles was his second-straight victory, while Loesch recorded a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 6 singles in his first collegiate singles match.
St. Olaf returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play at Saint Mary's University (Minn.) on Saturday, March 11 at 1:30 p.m. at Winona Tennis Center.
