NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The ninth-ranked St. Olaf College women's cross country team edged No. 30-ranked UW-Eau Claire to claim the team title at the 52nd edition of the St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday morning at the St. Olaf Cross Country Course.
St. Olaf had six of the top 10 finishers and 12 of the top 20 to top UW-Eau Claire by six points in the nine-team field. The Oles used a 2-3-4-7-9 finish from their top five to compile 25 points and beat out the Blugolds, who had a 1-5-6-8-11 showing to register 31 points. St. Olaf and UW-Eau Claire combined to have the top-19 individual finishers at the meet.
UW-Eau Claire's Carolyn Shult was the first to cross the finish line in 22:22.20, but St. Olaf had the next three finishers, led by a runner-up performance from senior
Bella Call in 22:45.80. Sophomores
Grace Moeller and
Lauren Walda were separated by just over two seconds in third and fourth, respectively, with times of 22:57.10 and 22:59.40.

Julia Everest,
Katie Gebert, and
Sophie Call all checked in with top-10 finishes as well, as the trio finished off a sub-50-second spread across St. Olaf's top-six runners. Junior

St. Olaf is off for nearly two weeks before returning to competition at the Blugold Invitational on Friday, Sept. 29 at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, Wis.
