BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Senior quarterback
Theo Doran of the St. Olaf College football team was chosen as the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Football Offensive Player of the Week, as announced on Monday.
Doran earned the first MIAC Athlete of the Week accolade of his career after piling up 281 yards of total offense and five total touchdowns in just over a half of play in Saturday's 41-6 victory over Hamline University on Homecoming and Family Weekend. The Minneapolis native is the second Ole to land one of the MIAC's three Athlete of the Week honors in football this season, joining senior kicker
Collin Swan, who was named the Special Teams Player of the Week on Sept. 16.
Before exiting the game five minutes into the third quarter in a 41-0 game, Doran was 15-for-21 for 257 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while rushing for 24 yards and three more scores on Saturday's eventual 35-point victory. The senior threw touchdowns of 43 and 26 yards and ran for a career-high three scores to help the Oles score touchdowns on each of their six first-half possessions.
St. Olaf, which is 4-0 for the first time since 2019 and the third time since 2007, will host the annual battle for the Goat against crosstown-rival Carleton College on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m.
