Kevin Turlington of the nationally-ranked St. Olaf College men's and women's cross country teams were officially recognized as All-Americans by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday afternoon.
Bode, Skemp, and Turlington earned All-America honors with their top-40 performances at Saturday's 2024 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., with each of the trio collecting the first All-America accolades of their respective cross country careers.
Turlington and Skemp led St. Olaf to an eighth-place performance in the men's race – the program's top finish since 2015 – with top-30 results. Turlington paced the Oles in 23rd (23:42.9), while Skemp was not far behind in 27th (24:34.3) in the top national finishes of their respective careers.
Bode collected the third All-America accolade of her career overall by placing 34th (21:43.2) to lead the St. Olaf women to a 17th-place result. The senior was an All-American in outdoor track and field in the 10,000-meter run in both 2023 (eighth place) and 2024 (ninth place) before adding her first All-America accolade in cross country with the best national placement of her cross country career.
Saturday's performances from Skemp and Turlington gave St. Olaf's men's cross country program 33 All-America accolades from 21 student-athletes, while Bode's showing gave the women's program 15 All-America accolades from 12 student-athletes.
