BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Seniors
Oscar Hanifl and
Izzy Treanor of the St. Olaf College men's and women's swimming and diving teams both claimed Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Diver of the Year honors in the announcement of the 2023-24 MIAC Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving All-Conference awards on Wednesday.
Treanor claimed her second Women's Diver of the Year accolade in a row after sweeping the two diving titles for the second consecutive season. The senior won the one-meter board with a score of 429.05 and the three-meter board with a score of 440.35 to become the fourth competitor in recorded conference history to repeat as MIAC Women's Diver of the Year, and the first to do so since Jenna Nagy of St. Catherine University on 2014-15.
Hanifl shared MIAC Men's Diver of the Year honors with Eli Grabinski of Saint John's University after the two occupied the top-two spots in both diving events. Hanifl was the conference champion in the one-meter diving (470.05) and was the runner-up in the three-meter diving (426.65) to pick up his first MIAC Men's Diver of the Year accolade. The senior is the sixth Ole to win the award and the first since Leif Jorgensen in 2019.
Wednesday's announcement also officially recognized all of the all-conference and honorable mention all-conference performances from last week's MIAC Swimming & Diving Championships as 17 Oles were honored in at least one event. The top-three finishers in each event received all-conference honors, while individual finishers 4-6 and the fourth-place relay team earned honorable-mention distinction.
