ORLANDO, Fla. – The St. Olaf College team kept its undefeated season intact with a 5-4 victory over Augustana College in the opening match of its Spring Break trip on Monday afternoon at the USTA National Campus.
Augustana (6-10) took a 2-1 lead after doubles before St. Olaf (7-0) won the first four singles matches to conclude to claim its fourth 5-4 victory out of seven matches this season. The Oles' 7-0 start is their best since opening the 2014-15 season with eight consecutive wins. St. Olaf's seven-match winning streak is its longest since another seven-match run from Feb. 13 – April 9, 2016.

Fiona O'Flaherty gave the Oles their lone point in doubles with an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles to improve to 5-0 as a tandem this season. The Vikings picked up 8-4 victories at both No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to take a lead into singles.

Mads Hockmuth combined to lose just five games in six sets in their straight-set wins at No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 singles to leave the Oles needing just one point from the other three singles matches to clinch the victory. Junior
Olha Zubarieva wrapped up the team win via a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at No. 1 singles before Augustana won the final two matches to account for the 5-4 margin.
O'Flaherty remained unbeaten this season at 6-0 with her 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles, while Zubarieva improved to 9-1 with her 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles. Hockmuth's 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles was her second in as many collegiate dual matches.
St. Olaf faces Union College (N.Y.) on Tuesday, March 26 at 1 p.m. CDT at the USTA National Campus.
